Curriculum Intent
- Drama at Sherburn High School allows all students to nurture and build on student’s confidence, resilience, and self-esteem to become confident and self-assured performers.
- Students will be given opportunities to explore a range of stimuli and performance material which inspires student’s imaginations, creativity, and curiosity and develop student’s emotional intelligence, relationships, and empathy for others through group work and positive collaboration.
- We encourage students to perform to a high standard and to become thoughtful and attentive performers through analysing and evaluating performance work in detail, both verbally and in written work.
- Students are given the opportunity to see live theatre and are encouraged to become part of our highly successful extra-curricular programme. As a department, we focus on developing students holistically, giving them the tools and transferable skills needed to fully prepare them for a life beyond education.
